This December we will acknowledge the life of Alfred Nobel. You could say his beard was dynamite. Ironically, he is actually the inventor of the explosive. He is most known for his work as a chemist, engineer, and inventor (Wikipedia.org).

Alfred Nobel, after being caught profiting from arms sales, instituted the Nobel Prize by donating his money to be allocated to people who improve society. Element 102 is also named after him which is called Nobelium (Wikipedia.org). Today, the Nobel Prize is famously known and revered as a high award given to those who work hard to help the advancement of society.
